Saturday April 13, 2013 - 11:00 AM to 6:00 PMCome out and enjoy great BBQ and live music as 20 teams compete for the Grand Champion prize at the “Sizzling in the Tropics” BBQ Cook-off on Saturday, April 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, 1200 Ash Ave., McAllen. The event is presented by H-E-B, who will be providing the quality meats for each team.
This year, cooking teams will compete in the following categories: Beef Brisket, St. Louis Style Cut Ribs, Sirloin Fajitas, Chicken, Jackpot Beans and Pan de Campo! Tickets are $15.00 per person for a wristband that will allow attendees to sample “all you can eat” from each team. Kids 10 and under eat free!
Live entertainment includes Joe Vega and Midnight Run, 3 Man Republic, Eskala, Grupo Libre and Mario Aleman. Tickets are available at the McAllen Chamber. For more information, call Gerry Garcia at 682-2871.
