10/31 - Pharr Phall Phestival

Come out in your best costume and enjoy candy, games, kiddie rides, a haunted house, music, and a costume Contest! From 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM, at the Pharr P.A.L. Center (located on 413 E. Clark St.) you’ll be up on your feet having a pharr out time!

10/31 - Fall Festival and Halloween Carnival - Edinburg

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV is hosting the 21st Annual Fall Festival and Halloween Carnival, scheduled for Thursday, October 31, 2013, from 6 to 9 PM. The festival will take place at The Legacy Center located at 702 Cullen St, (Corner of Rogers & Exp 281), Edinburg, Texas.

10/30 - Haunted History Walking Tour of Fort Brown - Brownsville

The Brownsville Heritage Complex, in historic downtown Brownsville, invites the public to 9th Annual Haunted History Walking Tours with UTB Professor Dr. Anthony Knopp and TSC Dean of Humanities James Mills.

10/29-31 Haunted House at Pumphouse - Hidalgo

The Hidalgo Pumphouse Museum along with the Youth Center is hosting "Terror at the Museum" which opens Tuesday - Thursday from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

10/25-26 - Way South Pow Wow - McAllen

 
Borderfest and the McAllen Grace Brethren Church will be presenting the 24th Annual South Texas Pow Wow. On October 25th and 26th, the Lark Community Center and Library will host this majestic event.

10/26 - Operation Clean Sweep - Pharr

Join the many people like you that help keep the City of Pharr clean! This operation is solely operated by volunteers. Supplies will be provided by the Pharr Public Works Department and will run from 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM . 

10/26 - Water Warriors Laps for Hopes - Pharr

The 1st Annual Water Warriors Laps for Hope presented by Pharr Parks & Recreation will take place October 26th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Pharr Aquatic Center.

10/26 - Carnival of the Great Pumpkin - Edinburg

The carnival will be held at the UTPA Fieldhouse from 6-9 p.m. and is free and open to the public. It will include live music, games, food, prizes and other activities for the whole family, as well as a haunted house and, of course, candy.

10/26 - Annual Pumpkin Patch - Brownsville


The Annual Pumpkin Patch Decorating Contest will be held the same Saturday October 26, 2013 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Brownsville Bike/Walk Rodeo at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

10/19 - Zombie Run - Harlingen

The dreaded Zombie apocalypse is upon us, you’re 3 miles away from safety, the road is wrecked and to top it all off it’s almost impossible to see. Get through a night time 5K race in which getting out as fast as you can is your goal. Look behind you, in the bushes and all around the course. They are EVERYWHERE!

10/19 - Spooky Science Fest - Weslaco


 The 7th Annual Spooky Science Fest, a fun event for the whole family, has been scheduled for Saturday, October 19th from 6 - 10 p.m. at Estero Llano Grande State Park. Admission is $5 for everyone. The theme of the festival is "Survival: The Zombie Apocalypse".

10/13 - Fiesta Marathon - Edinburg

The 8th annual Rio Grande Valley Fiesta Marathon is partnering with UTPA for a weekend of fun and fitness.The Fiesta Marathon is a certified Boston Marathon qualifier featuring a 26.2 mile marathon, 5-man team relay, ½ marathon, 5k run-walk and a 1 mile kids’ fun run.

10/12 - South Texas Outdoor Life Festival - Mission

The South Texas Outdoor Life Festival is on Saturday, October 12th from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park. Activities include a 5K Run, 10K Cross-Country Run, 35 Mile Bike Race, Kayak Race, and a 20 Mile Mountain Bike Race.

10/12 - Oktoberfest - Alamo


Oktoberfest will be held in Downtown Alamo on Saturday, October 12th from 2:00 - 10:00 p.m. Festivities will include live music, kiddy rides, games, vendors, beer garden, and plenty of food. The festival will also feature an accordion Throw-Down competition.
